Pre-Prep Department invites children in for an assessment. Nursery and Reception children attend either one or two sessions, as appropriate. Years 1 and 2 pupils join the class for one or two days when literacy, numeracy and social skills are assessed.

Junior Department assessment is a two-day process. Pupils spend the first day getting to know others in the class. The second day is spent on more formal assessment procedures.

Senior Department entry is by a more formal Entrance Exmanination held in February. All successful external candidates spend a familiarisation day at Cransley before starting in September.

Students can also be admitted to the school throughout the year following assessment.

Scholarships

Two scholarships are awarded each year to pupils entering the Senior Department at the age of eleven. They are awarded for Mathematics, English, Music, Sport and general academic ability, equivalent to a reduction of up to 20% of the basic fees. The scholarships are renewable yearly dependent upon continued performance.

Bursaries

These can be awarded at the discretion of the Governors in cases of financial hardship and are renewable anually.

Admission/registration

An application for entry to the school may be made at any time by completing the application form and returning it to the school. An appointment will then be made to meet the Head and for a tour of the school.

If the pupil is offered a place, it will be reserved in the appropriate class on receipt of the Registration Form and a set fee.

There are some assisted places available.
