Junior DepartmentThe Junior Department aims to provide a broad based education. A high standard of attainment is encouraged. Particular attention is paid to the progress of each pupil. The traditional atmosphere for work does not detract from our aim of encouraging each child to think independently and develop their investigative skills.Facilities can be provided for those wishing to be prepared for common entrance examination at 11 years old and to prepare boys for the entry into the senior school of their choice. The majority of the girls choose to enter Cransley's own senior Department. |
Curriculum

Junior Department structureClass sizes are small. The two younger classes benefit from specialist teaching and facilities in Music and Games. Classes 5 and 6 have specialist teaching in all subjects. |

Extra-Curricular ActivitiesAs an integral part of the general education and development of each pupil a wide choice of extra-curricular activities is available outside normal lesson time, and participation is encouraged. These include extra subjects such as music (piano, strings, woodwind and guitar), ballet, music and movement, speech and drama. Sports clubs, choral and orchestral groups are held at lunchtime, and use of the specialised library in the Junior Department is encouraged. Theatre visits and field trips relevant to studies are arranged throughout the year. |
